Joyce的同事剛向客戶做完提案,回到辦公室說:“They were totally getting in my hair.”

Get in somebody's hair並非真的指有東西跑到頭髮裡,而是“annoy someone”,意思是「很煩」。另外,也可以用get out of one's hair來代表「別再煩某人」的意思。

They were totally getting in my hair.

Get out of my hair! You are bothering me!

跟hair相關的習慣用法,還有keep your hair on。

Take it easy! Keep your hair on!

(X) I have a lot of hairs.
(O) My hair is thick.

中文說頭髮很多,其實是頭髮很濃密、很厚,用thick,而不用many或a lot of。

(X) I want to wash my head/ hair.
(O) I would like a shampoo.

(X) This shampoo will increase your hair.
(O) This shampoo will give your hair more volume.
(O) This shampoo will give your hair more body.

自然的說法是give your hair more volume/body。
